Removing a watermark β filling the gap from what surrounds it
Paint over what you want gone and the area is redrawn from its surroundings. Over a pattern, the pattern is continued; over sky, the colour is blended. Which of the two applies is decided by measuring the neighbourhood.
Nothing knows what was underneath. So a tool like this does not restore anything β it invents something plausible from the evidence around the hole. The simpler the surroundings, the better it works.
Only the painted area is redrawn. Everything you did not paint is left pixel for pixel.
Why there are two fill methods
There used to be one: colour diffused inward from the edge of the hole. That is right for a scratch on a smooth surface and wrong for anything with structure, because an average cannot reproduce a stripe.
Measured against images where the true answer was known, the difference was stark β an error of 1.4 on a smooth gradient against 69 to 114 on a checkerboard. And a watermark tends to sit exactly where it shows: on a textured background.
So a second method copies patches that already exist elsewhere in the picture. Real texture goes into the hole, and stripes continue as stripes. It suits grass, brick, hair, foliage β anything that repeats.

What works and what does not
Works: a small watermark on plain sky or a wall, text over a repeating pattern, a date stamp in the corner of a photograph.
Hard: a watermark lying across a face or over lettering. What was underneath cannot be deduced from the edges. The wider the area and the more it differed from its surroundings, the more obviously invented the result looks.
If the result disappoints, paint a smaller area. Several small passes usually beat one large one, and switching the method by hand is worth a try.

Frequently asked questions
Does it use an AI model?
No. It computes from surrounding pixels, so there is no model to download β which is why it runs in the browser and stays free. The trade-off is that it does not understand what the picture is of.
The result is blurry.
That is the smooth method applied to a textured background. Switch to copy texture. The reverse also happens: copying texture into open sky can leave visible patch seams.
Does it handle large images?
Yes, though copying texture searches for matching patches, so a large painted area takes a few seconds. The browser has not frozen.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser and the file is never sent anywhere.
